Heatwave Alert for Lanzarote and La Graciosa
The Directorate General of Emergencies has announced a persistent high-temperature episode affecting Lanzarote and La Graciosa in the coming days, following a coordination meeting with the State Meteorological Agency and local councils.
Temperatures are expected to rise steadily, peaking on Wednesday, which will be the most challenging day. Both maximum and minimum temperatures will be significantly elevated, intensifying the effects of the prolonged heat.
In response, authorities are considering upgrading the alert status due to high temperatures. The local council and the Emergency and Security Consortium advise residents to take extra precautions during this heatwave. They recommend following self-protection guidelines and avoiding prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
