The second day of the LPA B(de birra)Music Festival has firmly established it as the top event for heavy and thrash metal in the Canary Islands. Festival director Teresa Deudero’s programming showcases a mix of established bands and emerging talent, drawing audiences to the Parque del Rincón in Las Palmas.
The festival supports local acts through its parallel event, Emer-Gente, which features six bands performing each week for two months. While the first day focused on heavy rock and metal, subsequent days are dedicated to rock and pop.
One standout performance was by the Galician duo Bala, whose raw sound and stage presence captivated the audience. Formed in 2014, the two-piece left a strong impression with a powerful set that demonstrated their musical prowess. Despite the unusual name, Ánxela Baltar and Violeta Mosquera delivered an energetic performance that revitalised the crowd.
Following Bala, Bífidos, one of the local finalists from Emer-Gente, took the stage. They were followed by veteran thrash metal band Ángelus Apátrida, who performed a highly anticipated set filled with energy and technical skill.
The festival also introduced a free Thursday event for the first time, featuring bands like Rata, a duo known for their irreverent stage presence, and Cervatana, a newly formed extreme Andalusian band blending electronic and kraut rock influences.
The night ended with a vibrant performance from Loncha Velasco, who brought a carnival atmosphere to the stage with their lively music and cheeky lyrics, keeping the audience entertained until the final minute.
