Heatwave Continues in Tenerife with Alerts Issued
Tenerife is bracing for another hot day on Monday, with temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius, according to the Aemet (State Meteorological Agency). The island is under a yellow alert for adverse coastal conditions from 10 PM, alongside the stifling heat.
Northeasterly winds could gust up to 61 km/h in the channel between Tenerife and Gran Canaria. El Hierro will also see these alerts, while La Gomera and Lanzarote will experience strong winds. Gran Canaria faces additional warnings due to high temperatures.
In terms of weather conditions, the north of Tenerife will have cloudy intervals below 700 meters in the early morning and late evening, switching to clearer skies midday. Higher altitudes may see some brief rain, along with haze in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will remain steady, while maximums could rise moderately, potentially exceeding 30-32 degrees in certain areas.
For Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the forecast shows minimum temperatures of 23 degrees and maximums reaching 30 degrees.
