Tenerife’s Varguita Cheesecake has secured third place in Spain’s first national cheesecake competition held during the FROMAGO Cheese Experience in Zamora. The event featured 15 shortlisted entries from across the country.

Varguita’s entry was crafted specifically for the contest, combining a floral goat cheese from Tenerife with Zamorano DOP sheep’s cheese, according to company representatives. The cheesecake was complemented by a reduction of figs from Fasnia with Toro DOP wine, highlighting the culinary connection between the Canary Islands and Zamora.
This accolade follows their recognition as the best cheesecake in the Canary Islands for 2024.
