La Laguna has wrapped up the ninth edition of Las Noches del Patrimonio, marking its status as a significant cultural initiative within Spain’s UNESCO World Heritage cities. The event, which took place over two days on 18 and 19 September, allowed the public to explore over five centuries of history.
The city showcased a rich variety of activities, highlighting its appeal as a cultural hub. This year’s extended programme featured a diverse range of events, including interpretative tours, performances, and contemporary dance, enabling visitors to engage with the city’s architectural heritage in innovative ways.
A key focus this year was the introduction of new elevated spaces, enhancing the understanding of the historical area’s landscape. Guided tours allowed participants of all ages to gain deeper insights into the urban structure that contributes to the site’s exceptional universal value.
Las Noches del Patrimonio 2026 was organised by the Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain and La Laguna’s City Council, with collaboration from various local and regional cultural institutions. The successful event has further established La Laguna’s position on the international stage as a living heritage site.
