The Tinajo Town Council has added a new vehicle to its Municipal Civil Protection Group to enhance its emergency response capabilities and safety operations in the area.
The new Ford Ranger was unveiled on Wednesday at Plaza de Los Dolores, next to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores. The event was attended by Civil Protection members and the councillor in charge, Yurena Cubas.
This vehicle will improve the group’s operational efficiency in preventive actions, incident management, and transport related to the services provided by volunteers. The acquisition was funded by a grant from the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Consortium for Safety and Emergencies, aimed at strengthening municipal Civil Protection resources.
Yurena Cubas expressed gratitude for the Consortium’s support, highlighting that improved Civil Protection resources directly enhance community safety. This vehicle joins previous additions, including two motorcycles and a Joëlette chair, aimed at bolstering the group’s equipment.
Tinajo’s Mayor, Jesús Machín, praised the year-round efforts of Civil Protection members in both preventive measures and incident response. The Town Council also noted the importance of inter-administrative collaboration to continue providing emergency services with better resources.
