The Council of Puerto de la Cruz is conducting weekly cleaning and maintenance at Playa Jardín, a key coastal area. These activities are part of a regular plan to ensure the cleanliness and safety of bathing areas, focusing on places that attract many locals and tourists.
The ongoing care of Playa Jardín reflects a commitment to long-term coastal conservation, requiring consistent attention throughout the year rather than occasional interventions.
Mayor Leopoldo Afonso emphasised the importance of regular maintenance, stating, “Caring for our beaches demands continuous effort, often behind the scenes but essential. We want residents and visitors to find Playa Jardín well-cared for and in the best possible condition, which is why these tasks are carried out regularly and will continue.”
Councillor for Beaches, Felipe Rodríguez Villalba, noted that these tasks are integral to the area’s routine operations. “Playa Jardín needs constant oversight given its significance to Puerto de la Cruz and high usage levels. We will keep implementing the necessary cleaning and conservation measures.”
The Council believes that well-maintained beaches enhance public spaces and contribute to community well-being, as they serve as sites for swimming, walking, relaxation, and enjoyment. Therefore, the Council will continue regular cleaning and maintenance of Playa Jardín as part of its ongoing coastal conservation and public space improvement efforts.
