The “Sabores de Tinajo” event kicked off during the 2026 Fiestas de San Roque, showcasing local products and effectively promoting the area’s culinary scene. The initiative quickly proved popular, with all 100 places filled within hours of opening registration.
Participants enjoyed a range of dishes on the opening day, including:
– Pitaya gazpacho by J.C. Viñas.
– Almogrote croquettes with cured cheese from Filo El Cuchillo and cactus jam by Mermeladas Lala.
– Mini brioche from Panadería San Roque with goat meat and pickled onion.
– Fig semifreddo with a Malvasía gel from Mermeladas Lala.
The event took place in San Roque, featuring Tomás Mesa from Bodega Las Cadenas, who shared insights into winemaking processes.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, praised all involved for making “Sabores de Tinajo” a success, highlighting its role in promoting local produce while celebrating the region’s gastronomy and landscape. He described the festival as a “journey to the heart of local flavour.” This year’s event comprises three days of activities, organised by the town’s Commerce and Primary Sector departments, in collaboration with the Canary Islands’ “Dinamiza Rural” programme.
