Man Arrested in Fuerteventura on Multiple Detention Warrants
A man with four active detention warrants has been arrested by the National Police in Fuerteventura, as confirmed by the Superior Police Headquarters of the Canary Islands on Thursday.
Authorities reported that the individual, who is now in provisional custody, was under investigation due to several fraud complaints filed at the National Police station in Puerto del Rosario. These complaints had been referred by various criminal courts in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Aware of the warrants against him, the man frequently changed addresses, staying in different holiday rentals outside the police jurisdiction and often booking under his partner’s name, which complicated efforts to locate him.
After gathering intelligence on his movements, police officers, in cooperation with the Information Brigade and Citizen Security, set up a surveillance operation to track him down.
This operation led to the identification of the location where the man and his partner were staying, resulting in his arrest on 5 August and subsequent transfer to police facilities.
