Lanzarote and La Graciosa will be under a yellow weather alert for high temperatures on Saturday, August 1, according to Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Consortium for Security and Emergencies of both islands.
The alert will be in effect from 11:00 to 20:00, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius, particularly in the southeast and inland areas of Lanzarote. The likelihood of these temperatures occurring ranges from 40% to 70%.
Espinosa noted that yellow alerts have already been issued across all the islands in the western province, with Lanzarote and La Graciosa previously remaining unaffected until this activation.
Forecasts indicate that this heatwave will start during the first weekend of August and may last until the following weekend, with temperatures expected to exceed 30 degrees across both islands.
The Consortium for Security and Emergencies urges residents to take precautions during this heat episode, especially during the hottest parts of the day.
