New Transport Contract for Disabled and Elderly Residents Announced
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has launched a tender for a new adapted transport service for elderly and disabled residents who require assistance, covering users of day centres and care homes.
Valued at €2.1 million, the contract is open for bids until 31 August. Interested parties can find more information on the Cabildo’s official website here.
Lola García, President of the Cabildo, emphasised that providing social and healthcare services for dependent individuals is a key priority, ensuring the availability of high-quality infrastructure and support.
Victor Alonso, the Social Action Councillor, explained that the new contract consolidates transport services for both disabled and elderly individuals, which were previously managed separately, now benefitting 167 people.
The service will include transport for users travelling from their homes to day centres and back, as well as transportation needs for residents when necessary, along with transfers for scheduled activities outside the centres.
