A fire broke out this afternoon at a private plot of land in La Mareta, near Fuerteventura Airport, creating a large plume of smoke. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

The incident occurred around 2:30 PM today in an area littered with rubbish, primarily plastic and tyres. These materials contribute to the intensity of the flames and the smoke, according to sources from the Fuerteventura Emergency Services.
Authorities have confirmed that there were no fears of the fire spreading to nearby areas. The causes of the blaze remain unclear.
Firefighters from Puerto del Rosario have since been deployed to tackle the flames.
