New Italian Restaurant Opens in Bahía del Duque

La Trattoria x Andrea Bernardi has opened its doors in Bahía del Duque, revitalising the local dining scene. The restaurant, led by renowned chef Andrea Bernardi, who co-owns the Michelin-starred Nub, aims to showcase contemporary Italian cuisine infused with personal flair.

Bernardi’s menu celebrates traditional Italian dishes while adding his creative touch. Signature offerings include the Vitello tonnato, featuring slow-cooked veal and marinated tuna, which is expected to become a highlight. Classics such as Carpaccio alla Giuseppe Cipriani and a reimagined Melanzane alla parmigiana also feature prominently.

With a focus on high-quality local ingredients and artisanal cooking, the dessert selection includes Italian favourites like Pistachio Panna Cotta and rich Tortino al cioccolato.

Bernardi, originally from Rome and trained in Italy’s culinary traditions, brings over 15 years of expertise in Spain, during which he garnered multiple awards, including Best Chef in Spain in 2010. His philosophy—“Passion, curiosity and respect for the product” shines through in his dishes.

La Trattoria aims to be a cornerstone of Italian gastronomy in the Canaries, offering a warm ambiance reminiscent of Tuscany. This exciting new chapter invites diners to experience authentic Italian flavours in a welcoming setting.
