Tributes Paid to Ana Brito, Director of the Canary Island Institute of Equality
Ana Brito, the director of the Canary Island Institute of Equality (ICI), passed away on Thursday. The news was confirmed by the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo.
Clavijo praised Brito as a dedicated advocate for a fairer and more equal society, particularly highlighting her commitment to education. “She worked tirelessly to promote equality in classrooms,” he noted on social media.
Brito, originally from El Hierro, held a diploma in General Basic Education from the University School of Basic Education in Las Palmas and had taught at various educational institutions.
Clavijo extended his condolences to Brito’s family and loved ones, stating, “Rest in peace.”
