A 73-year-old man has died following a severe assault at El Burrero beach in Ingenio, Gran Canaria. The suspect, a maintenance worker in the area, has been arrested by agents of the Guardia Civil.

The incident took place on 20 October, the same day the suspect was apprehended, as confirmed by the Guardia Civil to Europa Press. According to La Provincia, the victim was fishing on the beach’s southern breakwater when the maintenance worker approached him.
An argument broke out between the two men, resulting in the assault. The victim lost his balance and fell to the ground, where the suspect allegedly continued to strike him.
