Tenerife Showcases at Major Events Awards in Spain and Portugal
Turismo de Tenerife, through its Tenerife Convention Bureau (TCB), attended the Evento Plus awards ceremony yesterday at the Madrid Arena, where over a thousand industry professionals gathered. TCB sponsored the award for Best Product Presentation, highlighting the island’s status as a prime location for conferences and events.
Lope Afonso, Vice President and Tourism Advisor for the Cabildo de Tenerife, commented on the importance of Tenerife’s presence at the Eventoplus awards, describing it as a testament to the island’s growing relevance in the events and meetings sector. He noted that this market contributes significantly to economic diversification and international visibility for the destination.
Afonso added, “We continue to work towards establishing the island as a competitive and high-quality destination for hosting congresses, conventions, and various events. The attendance of over a thousand professionals at this gala also showcases the potential and opportunities this sector offers.”
Dimple Melwani, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife, stressed that the island’s involvement in the Eventoplus 2026 awards demonstrates its importance within the events industry. She mentioned that this sector is strategic for Tenerife, not only for its economic impact but also for attracting professionals, companies, and brands looking for an ideal environment to host high-value meetings and distinctive experiences.
