The Arona Council has launched an inspection plan targeting nightlife establishments in Playa de Las Américas, located in southern Tenerife, to ensure compliance with regulations concerning activities and licenses.
This initiative stems from numerous complaints from local residents, mainly regarding noise, disturbances, and other issues related to specific venues, according to the local authority.
The first inspections took place on Sunday night, carried out by municipal technicians with support from local police officers.
As a result, several inspection reports have been filed, which will undergo the necessary administrative processes to identify any irregularities and implement appropriate actions according to current regulations.
During these inspections, officials verified that the activities conducted at each establishment align with the authorisations they hold.
The focus is primarily on bars and nightlife venues, especially those hosting music events during the evening and night hours.
Arona Mayor Fátima Lemes emphasised that while Playa de Las Américas is a key tourist and economic area for the municipality, such activities must respect local laws and the residents’ right to peace. She clarified that the goal is not to oppose leisure or economic activity but to ensure harmony and legal security for compliant businesses.
Councilman for Urbanism, Javier Baute, added that these inspections aim to address residents’ concerns, particularly regarding noise and community issues, noting the positive and cooperative response from local business owners.
