The Civic Centre in Playa Honda will host a special interactive film screening for children aged 4 to 9 on 29 August at 12:00. The event is part of the successful initiative “La Pantalla Chinija,” which aims to offer young viewers from Lanzarote a more thoughtful relationship with imagery.
Organised by Tenique Cultural, the screening will feature the animated film “Song of the Sea,” which was nominated for an Oscar in 2015. This project reinforces children’s access to high-quality visual content, supported by professional guidance to help them reflect on what they see.
Following a successful session in Haría, the Playa Honda event promises a unique experience. “Song of the Sea” explores themes of family bonds, emotion, loss, and identity in a visually rich narrative. Javier Fuentes Feo, the director of Tenique Cultural, stated that the goal is to engage children with stories that open their senses and spark curiosity.
The screening will include a dialogue session led by mediator Vicki Dos Santos, providing an opportunity for children to share their thoughts and feelings about the film. This interactive element highlights the project’s commitment to fostering empathy and meaningful conversation among young audiences.
