Police in Arrecife arrested a 48-year-old man on the night of 24 August on suspicion of a public health offence. During a routine operation against drug trafficking, officers seized over 74 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, along with 1,243 sildenafil tablets and more than €2,000 in cash.
The operation took place around 10:30 PM when officers from the Prevention and Reaction Unit targeted a premises in the capital of Lanzarote. Initially, they found a bag containing 268 sildenafil tablets, each with 100 milligrams of the active ingredient, and cash.
Further investigation of the establishment revealed 101 bundles of a white solid, which preliminary tests suggested was cocaine, weighing approximately 74.3 grams in total. The officers also discovered an additional 975 sildenafil tablets and a precision digital scale.
In light of the findings, the man was arrested and taken to the National Police station in Arrecife, where he awaits further proceedings.
