A 43-year-old man sustained moderate injuries on Wednesday after his vehicle fell from a height of four metres in Aldea de San Nicolás, Gran Canaria, according to the Canary Islands emergency services (1-1-2 Canarias).
The incident occurred at around 14:38 when the Emergency and Safety Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert about the vehicle leaving the roadway and tumbling down the drop on Albercón Street in the municipality.
When firefighters arrived, they found the driver outside the vehicle, so no rescue was necessary.
Emergency medical personnel assessed the man, who had sustained multiple moderate contusions. He was transported to the Health Centre in La Aldea.
Medical staff conducted a second evaluation and determined that he needed to be transferred to a hospital. An ambulance was subsequently dispatched to take him to Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín.
