TITSA to Provide 20,000 Extra Spaces for Candelaria Festival
During the Fiestas de la Virgen de Candelaria on 14 and 15 August, transport company TITSA will add 20,000 additional spaces across its services. This includes enhanced schedules for routes 120 and 122, and special shuttle services 522 from La Laguna and 529 from Izaña.
Eulalia García, Mobility Councillor for Tenerife’s Cabildo, emphasised the aim of encouraging public transport as a convenient alternative to private vehicles, especially during the busy festival days. Last year saw an 11% increase in public transport usage during the celebrations, with over 27,600 passengers using the services.
Transport will be available from Avenida de los Menceyes, next to the old station, starting at 14:00 on 14 August until 17:00 on 15 August. During this time, stops from Calle Bélgica to Plaza de Teror will not be in service.
The 122 line will improve its frequency based on demand, while further trips will be added to the 120 line on 14 August from Santa Cruz and Güímar.
Shuttle service 522 will run additional trips via TF-5, TF-2, and TF-1, from 18:30 on 14 August to 21:30 on 15 August. The special shuttle 529 will operate from Izaña, connecting with key locations en route to Candelaria.
For those travelling from the south of Tenerife, lines 111 and 711 provide connections along the TF-1 motorway to Santa Cruz.
Peregrims using TITSA services can park for free at the interchanges in Santa Cruz and La Laguna from 18:00 on 14 August until 23:00 on 15 August, provided they can show proof of travel on buses 120, 122, or 522.
