Farmers in Lanzarote have until 28 August to apply for free olive milling at the local olive press.
The Lanzarote and La Graciosa Cabildo, through its Agriculture Department, has launched its olive collection campaign for the current season. Farmers wishing to convert their harvest into oil must submit applications in person at the Experimental Agricultural Farm from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 13:00.
Oswaldo Betancort, president of the Cabildo and Agriculture councillor, stated that the initiative aims to provide farmers with the necessary resources to process their crops safely, supporting the diversification of the island’s primary sector.

To access the service, each producer must deliver at least 300 kilos of clean olives, free of leaves, dirt, or pests, and in good health. If chemical or ecological treatments have been used, they must be registered and comply with safety timelines.
While milling services are free, farmers will be responsible for any necessary testing to ensure the safety and quality of the resulting oil.
