Café Romano by D’Vainilla Reopens with New Offerings in Las Palmas
The Café Romano by D’Vainilla, located by the children’s playground at Alonso Quesada in Parque Romano, has reopened following a successful bidding process by Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council. This initiative aims to enhance the local dining experience with improved facilities and furnishings.
Currently, the café employs three staff members, providing a selection of beverages, particularly smoothies, alongside sandwiches, toasts, snacks, and handmade cookies. Plans are in place to expand the menu and introduce services for children’s birthday parties.
The concession, awarded in April for five years at an annual fee of €20,400, includes renovations to the café’s space and terrace, making it more comfortable and functional for visitors.
Café Romano operates daily from 10:00 to 13:00 and 16:30 to 20:30, with intentions to extend hours based on demand.
Councillor Francisco Hernández Spínola highlighted that this reopening marks a significant step towards revitalising municipal public spaces for the community, while fostering economic activity and creating new job opportunities.
This reopening joins several others across the city, including kiosks at Parque de La Mayordomía, Parque Santa Catalina, Parque Doramas, Mirador del Atlante, Parque del Castillo de La Luz, Parque Juan Alemán, and spots in La Isleta, such as the Plaza del Pueblo and two kiosks in Plaza Hurtado Mendoza, known as Plaza de las Ranas, which are dedicated to tourist information services.
