Decathlon to Open Store in Puerto del Rosario
Decathlon, the well-known French sports retailer, is set to open a new store in Puerto del Rosario, as reported earlier this year. The company is currently hiring staff for the new location in Las Rotondas Shopping Centre.

In January, it was revealed that Decathlon acquired a significant part of Intersport’s business. Intersport, a Swiss-based firm, had around 120 stores across Spain but went into administration in March 2023 due to financial difficulties.
Decathlon’s bid included 14 stores and an outlet in the Canary Islands, with two stores planned for Fuerteventura and one in Puigcerdà, Catalonia. This network employs over 100 staff, representing nearly half the workforce previously held by Intersport in Spain.
