Free Summer Sports Camps Launched in Arrecife
Arrecife Town Council has announced the return of its free summer sports camps for children, running from 20 July to 14 August 2026. This initiative, organised by the Department of Sports, aims to provide a fun and educational alternative for families in the local area during the school holidays.
The camps will operate Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 13:30, with each session lasting one week. Activities will be held in various locations to make sports more accessible across the city, including:
- The Titerroy Sports Pavilion and nearby multi-use courts.
- La Paciencia Park.
- The newly renovated sports facilities in Las Salinas.
Each week, there will be 40 places available at these camps to ensure manageable group sizes and provide participation opportunities for as many families as possible.
The official launch took place at La Recova courtyard, featuring Arrecife Mayor Yonathan de León and Sports Councillor Eli Merino, both of whom highlighted the success of last year’s programme as a driving force for this year’s initiative.
Families wishing to enrol their children can do so by scanning the official QR code provided by the council, with registration open until the weekly limit is reached. Additionally, the council will offer complementary leisure activities throughout the city’s network of social and cultural centres.
