Fuerteventura Welcomes 77 New Civil Guard Officers to Enhance Security
The PSOE party in Fuerteventura has highlighted the positive news regarding public safety as 77 new civil guard officers prepare to join enforcement efforts across the island, specifically in Corralejo, Puerto del Rosario, Gran Tarajal, and Morro Jable. These officers will focus on enhancing local safety, although specific dates for their arrival remain confidential due to operational reasons.
José Cabrera, the PSOE’s Municipal Policy Secretary, urged political commentators to minimise misinformation and recognise the commitment of the Civil Guard to public safety, which he described as both a fact and tangible reality. He emphasised that, contrary to alarming rhetoric, the island’s safety has never been better serviced, with a significant increase in enforcement presence, especially in Gran Tarajal.
Cabrera stated that any confusion arises from political groups spreading unfounded rumours. He reaffirmed that the new officers would work alongside the existing 14 currently stationed in Gran Tarajal, highlighting the vital role of the Civil Guard in protecting citizens’ rights through crime prevention and immediate support services.
He expressed frustration over the quickness with which some forget the efforts made over the past year, including securing a Commander position for the Civil Guard in Fuerteventura and ensuring the permanent presence of the Security Unit.
The PSOE reaffirms its commitment to improving living conditions in Fuerteventura by focusing on facts, advocating for responsible communication around public security.
