In his presentation titled “Building Knowledge: Art, Science, and Territory,” de Famara shared a rich visual journey that explored the dialogue between architecture, engineering, nature, and the humanities. Born in Lanzarote and influenced by the legacy of César Manrique, he champions an integrated view of the territory, where artistic creation supports the preservation of natural and cultural heritage and promotes sustainability.

His recent exhibition, “ASTRO-PEZ. Exhibition. 2025-2026,” showcased at the Real Club Náutico and concluded at the Sociedad Democracia. This display featured not only the main piece but also two works celebrating the island: “Dama de la Biosfera” and “Olas de Biosfera” (2025).

De Famara also unveiled his research project, “Architecture of Oxygen,” which explores new ways to understand architecture through natural systems essential for life. Notably, his public sculpture “Homenaje al Peregrino,” located on the Camino de Santiago Francés, is being commemorated for its 30th anniversary.

His address underscored a social and humanistic perspective on public art, advocating for its role as a service to the community that can inspire and promote care for others. His inclusion in the ACIHL is seen as a significant opportunity to bridge diverse disciplines, with his motto “Building with Life in Mind” encapsulating his vision of art as a collective responsibility.

The event was supported by CICAR, which plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility of de Famara’s projects, contributing to the promotion of Lanzarote and Canary Islands’ culture and identity on a global scale.
