The Saborea Lanzarote Gastronomy Festival has been rescheduled from November 2026 to March 2027. The new dates are set for Friday 19 to Sunday 21 March, following a change in plans due to the coinciding electoral day on 29 November, recently announced by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Initially, the festival was planned for 28 and 29 November in Teguise. The shift comes as a response to the updated electoral calendar, as confirmed by the Cabildo (the local government of Lanzarote and La Graciosa).

The Cabildo stated that the postponement will allow for better arrangements and enhance participation from producers, wineries, restaurateurs, and tourism professionals connected to Lanzarote’s gastronomic sector.

Oswaldo Betancort, the president of the Cabildo, said the electoral timetable affected the original dates, and he supported moving the event to March for improved planning and coordination. “Saborea Lanzarote has become a major showcase for our local products and cuisine,” Betancort noted, adding that it is essential for all involved to have a clear schedule to prepare for the festival.

Nori Machín, the Councillor for Economic Promotion, emphasised that this change will enable ongoing collaboration with the sector, ensuring that Lanzarote’s products will feature prominently in the upcoming event.

The festival will be organised by the Cabildo, together with SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote and the Centres for Art, Culture, and Tourism, who will continue working on the event’s programming alongside local gastronomic stakeholders.

Details about the activities planned for March 2027 will be revealed gradually, according to the Cabildo.
