Speaking on Radio Canaria, Morales stated, “I ran for the Cabildo of Gran Canaria under a political organisation (NC) that I haven’t left.” He emphasised that he is committed to ensuring that the split with Primero Canarias does not impact the Cabildo’s governance.

While he noted that he no longer participates in Nueva Canarias’ decision-making bodies, Morales reiterated, “I am dedicated wholeheartedly to the Cabildo. I have not left or abandoned this organisation.”

Morales clarified that he was not actually a member of Nueva Canarias but belonged to a local ally, Roque Aguayro, which later played a role in the split. He expressed criticism of some decisions made by Roque Aguayro but reaffirmed his commitment to managing the Cabildo effectively.
