The luxury superyacht Four Seasons I docked this morning in Arrecife, Lanzarote, after departing from Málaga with stops in Gibraltar and Casablanca. This high-end vessel is slated to return to Arrecife multiple times in 2027 as it aims to attract affluent cruise passengers. Today marks a significant milestone, making Arrecife the first port in the Canary Islands for this cruise, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of Four Seasons.

The Four Seasons I accommodates up to 190 guests across 95 suites, with nearly one staff member per guest. Prices for a seven-night itinerary, which includes a stop in Arrecife, start at €25,000 for the basic suite, according to the company’s website.

Arrecife is solidifying its role as a strategic port for cruise tourism this autumn and winter. The Port Authority of Las Palmas has reported that the city will welcome 52 cruise ships this November, including several new launches aimed at premium passengers.

Arrecife’s mayor, Yonathan de León, noted that the municipal strategy implemented during his administration is establishing the city as a key stop for cruises navigating the North Atlantic and the northwest African coast. He and Tourism and Commerce Councillor Eli Merino have attended tourism fairs, such as the WTM in London and the Seatrade Europe in Hamburg, confirming strong demand for Arrecife as a cruise destination.

Many companies, particularly those focused on boutique cruises, are choosing Arrecife, which is the only state port on the island equipped for boarding and disembarking passengers outside the Schengen Area.
