CICAR, the Canarian car rental company, is returning to the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, a key event for the international tourism industry. The firm is showcasing its services in the Canary Islands and strengthening its connections with UK tourism professionals, as the UK remains the largest source of tourists to the islands.
In 2025, the Canary Islands welcomed 6.31 million visitors from the UK, which comprised 34.3% of total arrivals. Specifically, Lanzarote saw approximately 1.76 million arrivals from British tourists, making up over half of the island’s visitor numbers. These statistics underline the significance of the London fair for Canarian service providers like CICAR.
The CICAR stand serves as a meeting point for tour operators, travel agencies, and other industry professionals keen to learn about the company’s offerings. With the winter season approaching, this event is an opportunity for CICAR to maintain relationships with existing partners and explore new business avenues.
CICAR’s commercial director, Ramón Valiente, welcomed the Canary Islands’ Tourism Minister, Jéssica de León, who attended with several department officials, including José Juan Lorenzo, manager of Promotur Turismo de Canarias.
Part of the Cabrera Medina Group, CICAR is a family-run business with offices at airports, ports, and key tourist areas across the archipelago. This network allows for convenient vehicle collection and return at various locations, enabling visitors to explore the islands at their leisure.
The stand features a logo created by Lanzarote artist César Manrique, symbolising the company’s identity and its deep connection to Canarian culture.
