Tenerife Observes Official Day of Mourning for CD Tenerife Player Jesús de Miguel
Tenerife’s local government has declared an official day of mourning starting at midnight on Wednesday, 4 November, following the death of CD Tenerife player Jesús de Miguel.
In a gesture of respect, the Tenerife flag will be flown at half-mast on all local government buildings throughout the day.
The Cabildo has invited the public to join a minute of silence at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday outside the Insular Palace. This ceremony aims to honour Jesús de Miguel and express condolences to his family, loved ones, and the wider CD Tenerife community.
Additionally, the Cabildo will attend a memorial mass conducted by Bishop Eloy Santiago on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the stadium.
This decision reflects the deep sorrow felt across Tenerife following a loss that has profoundly affected not only the island but also the wider sporting community, particularly in football.
