José Carlos Roger Toledo will be appointed the new Secretary General of the Youth Socialist Party of Lanzarote and La Graciosa at the upcoming 15th Ordinary Insular Congress on Saturday, 24th October. The Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) announced on Friday that the congress will involve a revamp of the organisation’s leadership and mark the beginning of a new phase focused on addressing the key concerns of local youth.
Roger, previously the Secretary of Organisation, will take over after his candidacy is officially confirmed by the Guarantees and Accounts Review Commission of the Youth Socialists of the Canary Islands.
The congress will present a management report, include a speech from the elected Secretary General, and carry out the renewal of the organisation’s leadership, electing a new Insular Executive Commission.
The incoming leadership aims to strengthen the presence of the Youth Socialists in public debate and continue to represent the issues and demands of Lanzarote’s youth, particularly regarding housing, independence, transport, education, and opportunities to create a fulfilling life on the island.
With Roger’s appointment and the new Executive Commission, the Youth Socialists of Lanzarote and La Graciosa are set to enter a new chapter, committed to meeting the needs of the island’s young people.
