The tourism sector is undergoing unprecedented transformation, with effective human resource management now vital for success. Hotels, restaurants, and service providers are grappling with several challenges, including maintaining service quality amidst workforce constraints, adapting to evolving employee expectations, and developing strategies that ensure long-term viability in the competitive Canary Islands market.

A panel of experts will lead discussions at the event, connecting broader trends with local operational realities. Notable speakers include:

  • Eugenia Soriano: An HR consultant, who will guide attendees on effective talent selection and retention, particularly for young professionals navigating modern recruitment processes dominated by digital filtering.
  • Javier Ondarra: An organisational strategies expert, who will provide innovative solutions to combat absenteeism through fostering a culture of commitment within teams.
  • Sonia Martínez Alcalá: President of Gehocan, who will explore how to create efficient and attractive work environments in the hospitality sector, key to retaining talent.

The conference will also include a discussion moderated by Techy Acosta on the role of technology in shaping careers, focusing on how artificial intelligence can enhance rather than replace human talent. This segment is tailored to help young professionals understand the new skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven landscape.

The event runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the El Fondeadero Civic Centre, with free entry until capacity is reached. For more information and to reserve a place, visit www.jornadasekonomus.com.
