The game started with a strong six-point lead for Ariagona, thanks to early three-pointers from Esther Iranzo and Sara Ariza. Toscones’ coach Alberto González called a timeout at 5:56 minutes into the game, with the score at 10-1, in an attempt to rally his team. However, it took nearly six minutes for Toscones to score their first basket from open play. Despite some struggles in attack, Ariagona’s Rosario De León scored five consecutive points at the end of the first quarter, which ended 19-9 in favour of the home team.

As the game continued, Ariagona’s performance fluctuated, but they maintained a healthy lead. After a timeout at 4:21 minutes left in the second quarter, Ariagona managed to create distance with a 29-13 score. However, Toscones were able to stay within reach, trailing at 33-22 by halftime.

Upon returning from the break, a major foul against Sara Ariza significantly hindered Toscones, allowing Ariagona to extend their lead to 37-22. The match saw both teams struggle with fouls, but a three-pointer from Rosario helped to lift Ariagona’s spirits. By the end of the third quarter, they led 56-37.

The final quarter began with two quick three-pointers from Andrea Cabrera and Jenifer Suárez. Desperate for a comeback, Toscones called a timeout as Ariagona surged ahead to a 65-39 score. With just over five minutes left, Ariagona’s lead exceeded thirty points, solidifying their victory.

The only downside for Ariagona was injuries to Alejandra Gómez and Jenifer Suárez towards the end of the match, with Suárez rolling her ankle.

Sara Ariza led the scoring with 14 points in a well-rounded effort from the Ariagona team. Esther Iranzo, Andrea Cabrera, and Gabi Caballero each contributed 12 points. Greta Bernardini stood out for Toscones with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Ariagona will face Villa de Tegueste in their next match on Saturday, 31 October, at 11:00 am at the IES Tegueste Pavilion.
