The Guardia Civil in Lanzarote held a ceremony on Monday, 12 October, to honour their patron, the Virgin of Pilar. The event began with a religious mass at the Church of Our Lady of Remedies in Yaiza, followed by an official ceremony in the church square.
During the ceremony, five awards were presented to members of the Guardia Civil from the Costa Teguise company. These included two White Crosses for Military Merit, three White Crosses for Civic Merit, one Silver Constancy Cross, and two Gold Crosses for Constancy in Service.
Speeches were delivered by the Yaiza Mayor and the Chief of the Costa Teguise Company, along with the Director of the AGE, which led to a tribute to fallen officers and the playing of the Guardia Civil anthem, marking the conclusion of the event.
