Unstable weather is predicted in the Canary Islands this Sunday, with the possibility of light rain in northern regions, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The forecast suggests that northern areas, especially the north-eastern midlands, will experience the most cloud cover and may see rain developing into showers around midday. Other areas of the islands are expected to remain predominantly clear, although some cloud may form later in the day, particularly on the southern and western slopes, where isolated showers cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures will largely remain steady across the archipelago. Tenerife could see highs of about 27°C, while El Hierro may dip to around 18°C. Winds will come from the north-east and will generally be light to moderate.
In Gran Canaria, the northern section will start cloudy with light rain expected, before clearing to partly cloudy skies around midday. The southern slopes may see some cloud development, with a low chance of an isolated shower. Temperatures in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are forecast to be between 22°C and 26°C.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will also experience cloudy spells, particularly in the morning and evening, with light rain possible early on. Temperatures will be stable or rise slightly, with north winds prevailing.
In summary, Sunday in the Canary Islands will bring a mix of cloudy weather and light rain in northern areas, while temperatures remain stable across the region.
