The inaugural Unique Trail Lanzarote by Joma will take place from 15 to 17 October, featuring various routes across the island. The highlight is the 67-kilometre Ultra, commencing in the picturesque area of La Geria.

So far, more than 600 participants have registered, with numbers expected to rise further. Three of the four main distances have surpassed 100 entrants, with the 12K Manriqueña and 23K Experience nearing 200 each, while around 100 runners are lined up for the Ultra.

The event will also showcase prominent trail runners, including Spaniards Julen Calvó and Miguel Heras from the Joma team, who will compete in the Ultra and Marathon, respectively.

Mayor Óscar Noda expressed pride in hosting the main event, stating, “It’s an honour for us that the Ultra starts here, in our municipality, particularly from the magnificent area of La Geria.” From there, participants will head north to Mirador del Río, the finish line for the main distances.

Noda underscored the event’s potential to highlight Yaiza’s attractions, estimating that “over 600 participants, possibly reaching 700, will enjoy our municipality and the island of Lanzarote.” He added that the occasion could boost activity related to sports, gastronomy, and accommodation in Yaiza.

The event will feature elite athletes and runners from 23 nationalities, with Noda noting, “It’s a source of pride, and we hope everything goes well and that people enjoy it.”

Unique Trail Lanzarote by Joma includes five municipalities and features the 67-kilometre Ultra, a 46-kilometre Marathon, the 23K Experience, the 12K Manriqueña, as well as a Vertical Kilometre and children’s races. Organised by Summits Sports Events and K3 Servicios Deportivos Integrales, the event is supported by various public and private entities.
