On Monday, the Canary Islands will enjoy mostly clear skies, with some cloudy intervals expected in the north, as well as in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where light rain and occasional storms may occur later in the day, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Light dust will persist in the eastern province, becoming more notable by evening, with potential for higher levels in Tenerife.

Temperatures across the islands will remain relatively stable, with maximums reaching 28 degrees Celsius in Tenerife and minimums dropping to 18 degrees in El Hierro. Winds will generally be light from the northeast along the coasts, intensifying in the southeast and northwest of the mountainous islands. Southerly winds will blow across the summits.

Elsewhere in Spain, rain and storms will be prevalent, albeit with less intensity than over the weekend. Yellow and orange weather alerts are in place for some areas, including Salamanca and Extremadura, while a red alert will be issued at dawn in Catalonia.

Aemet forecasts a period of instability across the mainland, influenced by an atmospheric low-pressure system west of Portugal. This will bring cloudy skies and scattered showers and storms, particularly in central and northern regions from early in the day.

In the afternoon, rainfall is expected to increase, particularly in the northwest’s mountain regions and around the central system, where heavy downpours may occur. Significant accumulation is anticipated in eastern Catalonia, although less severe than in previous days. In the southern third of the peninsula, rainfall is less likely and would be isolated if it does occur.

In the Balearic Islands, cloudy intervals will dominate, with occasional heavy showers and storms likely during the early hours. Temperatures will also see little change, with maximums expected to exceed 25 degrees in much of the central peninsula, reaching close to 30 degrees in parts of Andalusia, while minimums remain stable.
