Santa Cruz Consumption Vouchers Set to Expire Soon
Consumers in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have until Monday, 2 November, to redeem their Consumption Vouchers. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez urged residents to make use of remaining vouchers before the campaign ends, encouraging purchases at participating shops.
Bermúdez reminded those with unclaimed vouchers to take advantage of the final days of the initiative. He noted that proof of identity will be necessary when redeeming vouchers, during which recipients will receive an email detailing their available balance.
Launched on 2 August, the scheme has already generated over €369,000 for local businesses through the exchange of vouchers purchased by the public. Carmen Pérez, the Deputy Mayor and CEO of the Development Society, revealed that 92.41% of the total available funds have been redeemed so far. For transparency, the spending limits for each participating shop are updated on their website, www.bonoconsumosantacruz.com.
Pérez highlighted that the Southwest district has the highest redemption rate at 96.07%, followed closely by Ofra-Costa Sur at 95.87%. Other districts include Centro-Ifara at 92.08% and Salud-La Salle at 91.31%.
In terms of sector performance, fashion retailers accounted for 19.83% of all redemptions, followed by bookstores at 14.14% and hair salons at 8.96%. A total of 275 commercial establishments have joined this sixth edition of Consumption Vouchers, many of which still accept vouchers.
Final Day of Sunday Consumption Vouchers
On Sunday, 25 October, the final day of the Sunday Consumption Vouchers was marked by an economic boost exceeding €30,000 in the tourist zone, achieving a redemption rate of 99.16%.
Thirty-seven commercial establishments participated in this event, facilitating 686 redemption transactions. Ten shops, including BYFRAROSI and MAMINAR Barefoot Shoes, reached their capacity limits.
Throughout the duration of the Sunday Consumption Voucher campaign, €118,660.52 was exchanged, amounting to 99.09% of the total worth sold, across 39 participating businesses over the four Sundays.
Both the Santa Cruz Consumption Vouchers and the Sunday Vouchers have been promoted by the Santa Cruz City Council and FAUCA. The Council reminds residents that the Consumption Voucher campaign remains ongoing until 2 November, and unclaimed vouchers can be redeemed at participating businesses listed on www.bonoconsumosantacruz.com.
