A 48-year-old man was taken to hospital on Tuesday after experiencing a near-drowning incident at Playa Dorada in Playa Blanca, according to the Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred around 2:11 PM when the 112 emergency service received a call from a lifeguard reporting that a man had been rescued from the sea and showed signs of drowning.
Medical personnel arrived swiftly on the scene with an advanced ambulance and a basic life support vehicle. They assessed the man, who had initially received some first aid from the lifeguard. It was determined he had moderate symptoms of incomplete drowning, prompting his transfer by ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
