Antonio Morales has highlighted Gran Canaria’s crucial role in boosting employment in the Canary Islands. The president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria emphasised that the island is leading efforts to create more job opportunities in the region, which is particularly vital given the ongoing economic recovery post-pandemic.
During a recent meeting, Morales reported a significant increase in job registrations, showing a positive trend in the local labour market. He explained that measures taken by the Cabildo, including support for local businesses and new training initiatives for job seekers, have had a direct impact on employment rates.
Morales also noted that, while challenges remain, the island is committed to continuing its focus on enhancing workforce skills and creating a favourable environment for investment. This determination, he believes, will further solidify Gran Canaria’s position as a key driver of economic growth within the archipelago.
