The Faculty of Law hosted the inaugural Social Work in Education conference, aimed at promoting inclusion in education.
Taking place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the event brought together local experts, including Bettyna Angulo Montesdeoca from the Centre for Family and Childhood at the city council, Alejandra Montserrat Arteaga García from the Dr. Guigou Child and Youth Day Hospital, and various social workers from the region.
The conference focused on the role of social work in ensuring access to education for all children, particularly those facing challenges. It highlighted strategies for effective collaboration among professionals in education and social services, fostering discussions on best practices and innovative approaches.
Organisers plan to make this event an annual gathering to continue addressing issues of inclusion in education.
