Funded by the Inclusive Training and Employment Department of the Lanzarote Council, the programme kicks off with four free workshops between October 21 and 29. These workshops will focus on four specialised areas: longevity and wellness, sports tourism, women’s travel, and slow luxury. Susana Pérez, president of the FTL, emphasised the goal of not just understanding trends, but turning them into actionable proposals.

Each workshop consists of two sessions. The first session will inspire participants with trends, international references, and opportunities, while the second will involve presenting and validating each participant’s own tourism product proposal. Pérez underlined that this initiative is a direct response to priorities identified by the sector earlier this year.

The choice of these four themes stems from an analysis of international trends and traveller behaviour, presented in the Coral Madison Trends Monitor on June 17 in Arrecife. About 50 hoteliers and tourism professionals attended this presentation, where they identified strategic priorities and markets for Lanzarote.

Yolanda Perdomo, the programme’s methodological advisor and a strategic tourism consultant, noted that each workshop aims for participants to leave with a thoroughly developed product idea based on collaborative input.

The FTL’s initiative aligns with its commitment to support local businesses in specialising and diversifying their offerings, in line with Lanzarote’s tourism strategy. The programme is set to expand with two additional workshops for students from CIFP Zonzamas and the Lanzarote University School of Tourism in a later phase.

The first four workshops will take place on the following dates and times:

– Longevity and wellness: October 21 & 28, 9:30-11:30 AM
– Sports tourism: October 21 & 28, 12:00-2:00 PM
– Women’s travel: October 22 & 29, 9:30-11:30 AM
– Slow luxury: October 22 & 29, 12:00-2:00 PM

Spaces are limited, and registration can be done via the online form. For more information, contact: [email protected] or 608948468.
