The Lanzarote PSOE committee met on Wednesday afternoon at the Casa del Pueblo in Arrecife and nominated Manuel Fajardo Palarea as their candidate for the Senate in the upcoming general elections. He will be joined by Sabina Vizcaíno Sicilia and Celestino José Socas Callero as substitutes.
This nomination will be submitted to the party’s federal authorities for final approval. The local socialists support Fajardo Palarea’s continuity, citing his experience in advocating for the interests of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in the Senate.
María Dolores Corujo, the general secretary of PSOE Lanzarote, stated, “We have the experience, the team, and the enthusiasm to win the elections again and continue defending Lanzarote and La Graciosa. We approach this challenge with ambition and strength as a party dedicated to improving people’s lives.”
Corujo also emphasised the critical moment the country is facing, noting that democracy and hard-won rights are at stake. “Now, more than ever, a strong PSOE is essential to protect these advances and address the needs of the majority,” she added.
She concluded, “There is a majority that desires a fairer society with more rights and opportunities, and we must ensure that hope fills the ballot boxes. Every vote matters in building that future.”
