Lanzarote’s Cabildo President Calls for Data Amid Controversy
Oswaldo Betancort, president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has requested technical documentation and evaluation minutes related to the recent hiring process at the Centres of Art, Culture, and Tourism (CACT) amid allegations involving family ties.
Following reports on October 1 regarding the awarding of a permanent position for a cleaner, Betancort has taken steps to officially clarify the situation. He signed a directive on Friday, October 2, addressed to the Human Resources department of CACT, demanding urgent access to the full technical file.
This request seeks all applications, qualifications, supporting documents of the candidates, and records of evaluation, as well as details about the selection committee involved in the process.
The Cabildo has stated that it will thoroughly review the administrative records of the competition, aiming to ensure maximum transparency in public hiring procedures before making any final decisions.
