Journalist Isaías Santana and cameraman Aday Déniz had just finished the weather segment for the programme Buenos Días, Canarias, near the Las Terrazas Shopping Centre when they spotted the suspicious package in the distance.
Upon investigating, they suspected it might contain drugs and promptly alerted the National Police. Officers quickly arrived to assess the package and begin initial checks on its contents.
The Judicial Police unit also arrived to analyse the substance, accompanied by the Scientific Police, who are taking over the investigation.
