The first incident occurred at 5:44 AM in the 66 kV network of the Mácher substation in Tías, disrupting supply to over 51,000 clients. Shortly after, at 5:48 AM, further issues arose during efforts to restore service at the San Bartolomé and Punta Grande substations, exacerbating the situation.

By 6:47 AM, around 39,000 customers were still without power, though this number decreased steadily as restoration efforts continued. Reports indicated that approximately 8,463 customers remained disconnected as the morning progressed.

Notably, Playa Blanca maintained its electrical supply thanks to a cable connection with Fuerteventura, limiting the disruption primarily to other areas of Lanzarote.

Endesa, the local electricity provider, confirmed that it is actively working to restore power across the island. Meanwhile, the Canary Islands’ government declared a pre-alert status for civil protection at 7:15 AM under the Emergency Civil Protection Plan (PLATECA) to monitor the situation and coordinate responses among relevant authorities, assessing impacts on essential services.
