Emergency repairs are underway on the TF-134, known as the Taganana road in Anaga, to address the damage caused by Storm Therese. The work, managed by the Tenerife Cabildo’s Roads Department, focuses on improving safety on two key sections of the road.

The repairs are concentrated at kilometre points 1+400 and 8+600. The work includes stabilising slopes, installing drainage systems, and conducting thorough cleaning and maintenance. These emergency actions aim not only to repair damage from the storm but also to enhance slope conditions and drainage capacity to prevent future weather-related issues.

Dámaso Arteaga, the Roads Councillor, stated that the priority is to restore safety on the road, particularly by addressing issues with slopes and drainage systems.

Work began on 28 September and is expected to last until 10 October. Alternate traffic arrangements are in place during daytime hours to ensure safety while the repairs are being carried out.

Drivers using the Taganana road are advised to exercise caution in the work zones, adhere to temporary signage, and follow instructions from traffic management personnel. The Cabildo appreciates the cooperation and understanding of road users during this essential work to enhance road safety and improve this vital communication route in Anaga.
