Quique Setién has reflected on his time with Las Palmas, describing it as “extraordinary”. Speaking during an event held in Gran Canaria, he highlighted how straightforward everything was during his tenure with the club.
Setién, who previously coached FC Barcelona, weighed in on his mixed experiences during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, acknowledging both the highs and lows. He emphasised the challenges of managing a football team, particularly the immense pressure that comes with training a club of Barcelona’s stature.
The coach is known for his distinct playing philosophy, which Saúl Ñíguez, the newly signed player from Las Palmas, has praised. Setién noted the talent emerging from the Canary Islands and observed that his career continues to evolve after stepping off the pitch.
